Preventitive Dental Therapy
The
regular dental visit
At every regularly-scheduled dental
appointment, Dr. Norouzi & Dr. Shatergholi
will examine your teeth, gums, mouth, and
throat. A regular dental visit includes the
following:
Head &
neck examination
Clinical dental examination
Dental cleaning (Prophylaxis)
After
completing the clinical dental exam, Dr.
Norouzi & Dr. Shatergholi will outline a
detailed treatment plan, if necessary, and
indicate when you need to return for a
follow-up visit. Regular preventive
maintenance of this type, along with a
thorough home care regimen, helps assure
your good oral health.

Radiographs (X-Rays)
A
New Option for X-rays- Digital X-rays An efficient,
computerized process.
Until
recently, our only option when taking X-rays was to place a
film packet in your mouth and, using a traditional dental
X-ray machine, expose the film packet, then wait up to ten
minutes for it to develop. With digital radiography, the
process is computerized.
once
the X-ray image is on our computer screen, we can enhance it
to make a more precise diagnosis. We can save images on our
computer for instant retrieval, and once they are digitized,
we can easily send them to insurance companies or
specialists, as needed.

Periodontitis and Gigivistis
Periodontal
disease is a major cause of tooth loss in adults
Early and
moderate periodontal disease may exhibit few, if any symptoms.
However, warning signs of advanced periodontal disease may include
red, swollen, or bleeding gums; persistent bad breath; permanent
teeth that are loose or separating or changes in the way your teeth
fit together when you bite.

What are
Sealants?
alants are a safe,
painless, and low-cosput ht way to help protect your child’s back
teeth from decay. Sealants have been used on children’s teeth for
more than 20 years. A thin, plastic, tooth colored or clear coating
(sealant) is bonded to the chewing surfaces of the molars and
premolars. This forms a hard shield that keeps food and bacteria
from getting into the tiny grooves in the teeth and causing decay.

Tips For Healthy Teeth
Sealants protect
the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, but they don’t take the
place of brushing and other steps to prevent decay. Help your child
do the following:
- Brush and
floss daily to remove bacteria and plaque and help keep the gums
healthy
- Get regular
fluoride treatments. Along with fluoride toothpaste and
fluoridated drinking water, fluoride treatments help protect the
smooth surfaces of your child's teeth from decay
- Checkups
every six months help detect any problems early.
- Eat a good
diet. Your child needs plenty of protein, whole grains,
vegetables, and fruits. Limiting foods that are high in sugar
(such as soft drinks, cookies, juices, and sweetened cereals)
reduces the risk of tooth decay.

and Dr. Shatergholi allows you to finally have the smile you’ve
always wanted.
- Another option
our office offers is a home bleaching system known as the Nite White
System. This system is fast, safe and effective tooth whitening
system. During your
diagnostic visit, we will take impressions of your teeth. This
allows your dentist to make a custom gel-holding appliance called a
whitening tray.
- At your second
visit, you will be fitted with your whitening tray and provided with
the Nite White take whitening kit. You will also be given specific
instructions on how to administer the gel and how often to wear your
tray.
